The musculoskeletal system is composed of bones, cartilage, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. The primary functions of the musculoskeletal system include support of the body, motion, and protection of the human body’s vital organs.

Anatomy
These body parts provide the framework for the human body, and create movements. There are a total of 206 bones in the human skeleton.
Pharmacology
The medications for the musculoskeletal system are used for a variety of reasons including pain control. Low back pain, or lumbago, is one of the most common reasons that patients see physicians.
Terminology
It provides form, support, stability, and movement to the body. The musculoskeletal system’s most important functions include allowing motion, and protection for several organs.
